For anyone who is tired of having a roof above their head and believes that a school trip is also a holiday.

What will we discover?
Thousands of years of history of our Islands with stone villages, prehistoric necropolises, Etruscan settlements and fortresses, the ports, the ancient quarries of Roman times.

Thousands of years of history of the iron and copper mines, the fortresses and the lookout towers built for defence against the Saracens.  The hermitages, sanctuaries, churches and small chapels built by Elban peasants, the Napoleonic sites, the military positions of the second world war…all set in an environment of rare natural beauty.

The incredibly varied and spectacular natural environment of this land, with a never-ending variety of profiles from higher ground to the coast, harmonised by the light that is mirrored in the sea and which expands to exalt the warm clear colours of the Mediterranean.

We will discover the sea, the tidal area bubbling with life, the posidonia prairies (sea grass prairies), dolphins that are often present off coast…the sandy coast with a complex dune ecosystem, and the rocky shore with its noisy gull colonies and ….the vegetation with plants of scrubland and of the Mediterranean maquis, the holm oak and the chestnuts groves…, the complex geology of Elba with its many different minerals from hematite to chrysocolla , ilvite to pyrite, to magnetite….and the marvellous crystals of the western grandioritic massive, and sail towards the fantastic geological conformation of Pianosa with its spectacular fossils.

The wild animals: from the fantastic big world of small insect, to mouflons and hares, from wild bores to falcons, from dolphins to magpies….who are all becoming more and more the owners of the protected territory of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.
