Environmental education in the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago

 

About us

We are a group of Elban guides and we have been working on our Island since 1995 specialising in excursions and environmental education, we are experts in hiking, sea kayak and mountain bike excursions and the  experience gained has been applied to our programmes of environmental education.

The programmes last a few days and are for both  primary and secondary schools, obviously with different programmes and methodology. They can be personalised for any type of request.

These programmes are exclusively for activities in the open area and are aimed at getting to know and understanding the territory.

The guides that accompany you have a lot of experience in managing school groups, and have a specific training in all naturalistic aspects of the Island of Elba and the Island of Pianosa, they pay particular attention to the relationship between man, environment and traditions.  All our guides are qualified excursion guides and are guides of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.

The best ratio is one guide every 20 students.

Our projects
Our environment education projects are born from the territory of the Island of Elba (and Pianosa) a real educational laboratory, offering a variety of  tangible, cognitive, experiential and linking settings which will help to build an understanding of eco-sustainable development.  It is very important for us to create educational situations which satisfy the requests of the students, teachers and that are in line with school programmes.

The contents of the project and the methodology used will be a result of a collaboration between groups of students-teachers and our staff.  In fact, it is necessary for us to get to know what your expectancies are so that we can fix objectives and conclusions to the project for all types of schools.

An environmental education project, in our opinion, reaches its objectives if it causes changes both at a cognitive and at behavioural level.
